Jesus said for us to fear not, but believe only. The words of our Lord Jesus are all we need to believe. Everything else is somebody’s opinion, including mine. If you are able to read, then you are able to believe what is written in the Bible. God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19). In 2 Timothy 3:16 it says that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
Over in Romans 15:4 it says, “for whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” So here in these two scriptures we find Paul telling us that God’s word is dependable as he uses both Old Testament and the New Testament to assure us of this fact. When we do not read our Bible we will not understand who we are in Christ Jesus.
Just as any instruction manual contains information on how to operate the product we have before us, if it is not read, we may not understand how to operate it correctly. The same is true pertaining to the Bible. If we do not read it daily, we will not understand who we are, what is right and wrong, and we will miss hearing God’s voice as He speaks through His word. If we do not renew our minds daily with the word of God we will lose this battle in our mind.
If we do not keep our helmet of salvation on (Ephesians 6:17) we will get hit in our mind with ungodly thoughts, and this united with our flesh is enough to tip the scales and we will blow it and sin. The flesh is weak, our minds are soulish and selfish, our spirits are sealed by the Holy Spirit and will never yield to sin. But, and this is a big but, your soul and body will fall prey to sin without your mind or soul, being renewed by the word of God, (Romans 12:2, Ephesians 4:23, Colossians 3:2, Philippians 4:8).
We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16) and as we retrain our minds to think like God, we will be able to overcome our old mindset and our flesh. This is how we become mature sons of God. Most of us are still in diapers in the Church, and we walk in fear which is the opposite of faith, and this can be overcome by our decision to believe God’s word.
Don’t sit there and watch the “News” and let it fill you with fear and confusion. Turn that stuff off and get your Bible and read the New Testament letters of Paul, James, and John as they tell you what is real and the false stuff of the world that is consumed with evil. Remember in the book of Revelation who wins.

I am still going to write longer ones also, but I wanted to see if anyone likes the shorter versions of my thoughts. Do your own studies and see what God is telling you as we study God’s word together. Remember, you will make it, just don’t give up.
