“And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages, to all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed. And no one is able to snatch them out of my hand”. Amplified Bible John 10:28
This is a statement Jesus made as he talked with the Jews as they were walking in Solomon’s Colonade of the Temple one day. Can any scripture that talks about Jesus or the Father be any plainer? In your wildest imagination can you believe just for a moment that anyone or anything could take something away from God that belongs to Him? And this includes you!
I have written about this subject just a few blogs before but i want to cover it again just to make it a little more plainer to you my beloved brethren. I hope you get a little more out of it this time. I will do a little word study on this verse using the King James Version.
The word pluck or harpazo in the Greek means to seize, catch away, pull or take by force. We would have to be purposely stupid to think we as humans or even devils could do this to God.
The second word any or this in the Greek means some, any person or object, or anything. The writer was writing to the people of God in his epistle long ago.
The third word is man or ouden in the Greek is not even one (man woman or thing) none, nothing, nobody, any man, neither any thing, never man. This is very plain for us to understand and apply our logic to it that the writer is very sure it can not be done by anyone or anything! He makes it very plain that no one, not even ourselves can pull off this impossible feat.
I wrote in my previous letter and gave you five reasons to back up what I have just written so you can reread it and I will not have to write it all down again. In verse 29 it talks about the Father who is omnipotent secures the flock by His power and protection. Once you believe, you have gone from lost to saved and you can not be any more saved than saved. We do not even have to have any faith as God even gives that to us as a gift just so we really can believe and become His child forever!
One other point I would like to make that I have not covered before is what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 3:12-13 and 1 Corinthians 5:5 as he was admonishing the Church Elders to deal with someone ( a believer by the way) who was living in blatant sin and refused to put it away. Paul never said the person who was doing this was lost. Paul never for one minute disputed that this man was in danger of losing his salvation. Imagine that! Does not sound like the church sermons I have heard before on sin. But Paul did say if he refused to put away this sin and change his mind, then he would be given over to satan to destroy his body but could not touch his salvation. Quite different than modern man teaches. We always need to check it out with what God has already revealed to us in His Word (Bible).
When we live as the world lives we are putting on a sham or show that is false and we are to always judge ourselves or we will be judged by God our Father. Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 3:12-13 that all our works will someday be judged and only the ones that are found to be gold and silver will survive. All the rest will be burned up and become only memories. Gone, lost and to be forgotten. Please do not be hard hearted and live as an enemy of God when in reality you are His child. Judge yourself and watch what God will do with you and for you. He loves us more than we will ever fully realize while we live on this fallen earth, but rest assured He loves you in spite of you. Read these two chapters I have touched on and see what you get out of them.
I hope this letter will be of some use to you as you run your race that is set before you. Remember you will make it just don’t give up. See you next time as I will post a poem I wrote recently that I hope you will like.
In His Service As Kilted Priest
Thank you for your insight on these chapters, I will be reading the chapters as one of my devotions today. I am looking forward to the poem you wrote.
