Do Christians Lie, Continued

Last week I laid the groundwork for the definition of a lie according to Mr. Webster and the Bible. This week I want to explore some lies that men of God tell that are not OK, and I believe are very damaging to the Church. Not only according to the Word of God, but in the eyes of the world also. Lies and misinformation are the main causes of the condition of our country as I write this letter. We the Church should be the leaders in setting the standard for integrity to the world.

What examples are at my disposal? I will list the ones I consider to be real problems in our Christian culture, Praying, Scripture, and Tithing. These are the basis of who we are in the worlds religious system. I will only cover a few in some detail because of my time frame of moving back to where we came from, some twenty two years later. I will also cover what the leaders of the Church do and say. You can apply this to yourself as you study to become more like Jesus.

Firstly I want to clarify something about lies. I do not believe most preachers purposely lie to their people. They are just ignorant of the truth, as they have been taught by their teachers, who were just as ignorant as their students. The gospel of Jesus Christ was never meant to become a business. But, it has become a multi billion dollar one. It is up to us, the Church, to change this before it is to late.

I guess you can read between the lines to see what is the first lie I want to expose. The tithe is perhaps the most terrible lie the organized church has ever used. It brings such misery upon its members, stress, bondage, deception, and guilt. None of which any child of God should have to endure. This lie is so excepted by the organized church leaders, it has become the illusional truth they believe.

When anyone teaches the New Testament Church to tithe “money”, it is always a lie or deception by someone who is to gain from it. The deception is even further expanded when they tell their people “God will bless them for giving the tithe on their paycheck”. Poppycock! The only people that will be blessed are the those who are at the top of the “Money Pyramid”.

Don’t get me wrong about money and the work of Ministry. But, it is our responsibility to take care of business, and not allow the organized church to waste the resources God has given each of us. This tithing teaching is the biggest lie that has ever been perpetuated by the organized church since it began.

The second lie I would like to discuss is on preaching by using the Bible to make it say what you want it to say. This is deception, because it may or may not be what Holy Spirit meant when He wrote it. When the preacher or teacher takes scripture out of context, and just uses part of a verse to frame his or her teaching, it is wrong. This is where the lie begins as they take part of the word of God and use it to give the illusion that it is Gods word. And by so doing they are lying or deceiving the child of God. This is why signs and wonders do not follow this kind of preaching (Mark 16:20). They will only follow Gods written word, as Holy Spirit takes Gods word and acts upon it. He will not do so, if it is a lie or deception, planned or in ignorance. Become a student of Gods word and you will not be so easily deceived. I believe you get the idea of what I am saying about lying.

I hope you get the idea I am trying to reveal. All of us need to consider what we portray to the world and each other. Choose your words carefully and do not tell lies or give the illusion of lie to others. I could say more but I will not. We never want to become like the world. I will close for now, but I may say more later in other letters to the Church.

Remember, you will make it, just don’t give up. See you in Ohio.
