I get so tired of hearing preachers call us servants of God. We are not servants of God as that is Old Testament. Jesus made the way for us to become Children of God (John 1:12). As I have said before, we are New Testament people, and the Holy Spirit has given us twenty seven letters or books for our instruction manual on how to be Children of God. Read it, believe it, and do it.
We are here on this earth representing our Father, which Jesus has revealed to us by His teachings. Even though we are Children of God, we are to become servants to mankind. Not as slaves, but as servants, showing them Gods love through our actions and deeds of voluntary love and kindness. Trying to make a difference in their lives by giving them hope.
Jesus is the only begotten Son of God ( John 3:16), and He became a servant to his followers by choice, to be an example of how to live like a Child of God and help show them the way to become like Him. Jesus went about doing good and healing all those oppressed by the devil.
Jesus is trying to show people that we think too highly of ourselves as adults or Christians, and to become more like little children (Matthew 18:3). A child who is innocent will not be aware of their short comings or lack of experience. They think they can accomplish anything they want to do. It is only by trying to do it and failing, do they then realize that they need someone’s help. This is what Jesus is trying to show His disciples. They needed to change their attitudes, and become dependent on the help and guidance that only God can give them. Without this change in attitude, we are subject to our vanity of being too grown up to realize the need for our dependency upon our Father God to supply us with our daily needs and protection. Jesus wanted us to become like children, but not to become childish.
A child is the future of our human race, just as we are the future of Gods Kingdom. We train our children to become better citizens, with good morals, and setting goals so their futures will be successful. If we as Children of God, want a good future here on this earth, we are to seek out our Fathers help, and become trained in the way of the Kingdom of Heaven.
We are Gods children and this is how He sees us, no matter how old we become. This is what Jesus is trying to show us in His Word. God has a future planned for each of us, and He is always thinking good thoughts toward us (Jeremiah 29:11).
Children are strongly influenced by what they see their parents doing, even more so than what they are taught by our words. Their future, as well as ours, depends on decisions we make daily. Just as Jesus saw what His Father was doing, He then did the things He saw His Father do (John 5:19).
Once again the “organized church” has done a poor job in training and informing The Church of their position in Christ, as Children of God, and what they have now, as well as in the future. We need to reveal this truth to all of Gods Children, as we are given the opportunity to, (once you receive Jesus as Gods gift to you, then you become a Child of God and He is your Father).
This message is so simple, it almost becomes too deep for us to understand. It will take us the rest of our natural lives just to begin to understand the message of the Cross, and what Jesus has done for each of us. We are Gods Children and He loves us just as we are. (If you have children, then you know what that means as a parent).
We are all in this together as we learn and grow as Christians. I am not picking on the “organized church” out of hurt, but out of concern as to what they do to my brethren, the Church. They are supposed to be teaching them the ways of God and not the doctrine of religion or churchianity.
These Men of God are only human, and they all need to lighten up and become as children also. Stop taking themselves so seriously. They are just like us. We all need Gods help as we run this race of life.
You will make it, just don’t give up. See you next week.
