A Quick Look At Genesis 1&2

First Day: God creates the heavens and the earth. Filled with water. Day and Night

Second Day: God separates the waters and creates the air of the heaven.

Third Day: God creates dry land and seas, grass, herbs, and trees.

Fourth Day: God creates Sun and Moon, and stars.

Fifth Day: God creates the fish, whales, and other sea creatures. Then He creates the birds of the air.

Sixth Day: God creates living creatures like cattle and all four legged things. Then He creates Man.

Seventh Day: God takes a rest after creating for six days.

Now I will make some comments on what I have just written. Versus one and two could be different periods of time. How much time is unknown to us. But more learned men than me have suggested that this gives the suggestion that the earth was destroyed after God created it in verse one. We know everything God does is perfect, and the earth without form makes no sense to us. This is the suggestion of a pre-Adamic world that Lucifer was in charge of. But that is another subject full of speculation.

When God created Adam he made him one hundred percent human, with all the knowledge that he needed to replenish the earth, and make it his dominion. God instructed Adam in everything he needed to know to prosper. God also told him what to eat, and what not to eat. Then it became Adam’s responsibility to teach all others that he reproduced what God had said. He was not a cave man grunting unintelligible sounds. He was created perfect, and used his complete brain that God had given him, when He created him. Adam was created fully adult, ready to do the work God had set before him.

God knew Adam needed a physical mate just as all the rest of creation had their mates. But God created him first out of the dust of the ground and then taught him everything he needed to know. Then God takes Adam and put him into a deep sleep, and took one of Adam’s ribs and fashioned a mate for him. When God brings her to him, it causes Adam to prophesy over her. He said, “this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh, she shall be called woman, because she was taken out of man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.” Genesis 1:23-24

From what I have read about the order of creation is that mankind or Adam, was created on the sixth day and animals were created after he was. If you read verse nineteen, chapter two, you will see the timeline I’m referring to. He created Adam, then the animals one by one and brought them to him to see what he would call them. God also brings the birds of the air to him at this time for him to name and become familiar with. No time limit is suggested, but it had to be a long time.

In chapter one, verse ten, we find God creating the dry land by forcing the water under ground and allowing the earth to be exposed. This is why we find petrified sea creatures and other water objects. The whole earth was under water for a long period of time not specified by the Bible. The earth has been here since the beginning. We humans are the youngest of Gods creation.

If you just stop and think about the order of creation, you will see this timeline. Earth, water, fish, land, trees, herbs, grass, animals, people. No water-no fish. No land-no animal life. Evolution? Nope, creation at its finest. Millions of words have been written about how evolution works, but it requires more faith than belief in Jesus. My only question for those who believe in evolution is where did the first life come from? Someone had to create it!

The land had to be created out of the water first, then it was planted with grass, herbs, and trees. This was before any living bird or animal was created. This was on the third day, whereas time as we know it, did not begin until the fourth day. In verse twenty, chapter one, we see God creating all the fish that would be in the waters of the earth. On this same timeline He creates the birds that fly. The fish were first because of the water. No where does it say how long this process took. Time as we know it, did not exist until the fourth day of creation.

A few notes of interest is that chapter one is a quick look at how God created everything, and chapter two is a more detailed account of creation and Adam’s timeline ending with the creation of Eve. Verse five of chapter two shows us that time was not a process at this account, or if it was, it was a long process of passage. The earth was bare until God created grass, herbs, and trees, both fruit and others. No rain was known at this period of creation. Which tells us that the seasons were not yet in operation. Just a great tropical jungle over all the earth. Just a humid mist everywhere that watered the earth.

Then in the next few verses we see God doing something different as He plants a beautiful garden in the midst of this tropical forest, and He calls it Eden. This is where He creates Adam and Eve. A garden of delight and pleasure, full of everything they need to prosper and be happy. This garden had a river that began within its borders and then it separated into four other distinct rivers. This garden produces food and drink for everything that lived within it. In verses fifteen and sixteen we see God putting Adam into this garden of delight and then telling him everything he needed to know. God gave him the special gift of being able to have the choice of knowing right from wrong. (Tree of Knowledge)

Adam had a free will to choose to believe what God told him was the truth, and he lived that way for an unknown period of time. I hope you enjoyed this quick look at Creation as revealed to us by the hand of Moses as God told it to him. Evolution is such a fairytale based upon wild theories, and lack of evidence. Everything as discovered by archaeologists points to a sudden beginning. The Darwin lie has been repeated so often it is now taken for truth by our worldview. But it is just a theory and not a fact.

I enjoy reading Gods word and the account of Genesis, and I hope you like this quick look at what I see as I read it. Don’t be mislead by those who believe in evolution because it removes God and puts man in charge of his own destiny. Only God can take nothing and create something. I once heard a friend of mine say this: Facts do not change truth, but truth does change facts. Facts are based upon so-called evidence, but when the evidence is shown to be wrong, this is where the truth is revealed.

Always remember, you will make it, just don’t give up. See you next week as we study Gods word together.
