Our faith must be in Jesus and not in ourselves. Faith must be a daily act of believing what God said in his word (Bible) is true. Not in a religious sense but a daily walk with Him as Adam and Eve had as they walked in the garden with Him,and gave up so long ago. Pure worship in the most direct way we can. Absolute trust and adoration in Him. This is the type of worship God wanted then and He wants it now. Not being afraid of Him, but respectful worship and fellowship daily. Worship as explained by W.E.Vine in his Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words makes this observation. The worship of God is not a set of do and don’ts and it is not defined anywhere in the scriptures. Worship is not just praise, but it is also the direct acknowledgement to our God that we are in awe of His greatness, nature, ways and claims He has made. In other words we are in total amazement and trust in Him to take care of us while we are on this earth and beyond.
Trusting in His goodness and protection just as we earthly fathers protect and provide for our own children. No act of faith is required of them, just innocent trust. Our children believe in us as they ask us for their hearts desire, if they don’t get what they ask for, this hurts their trust and sets them up for not being able to trust God as they grow up. This is of course our fault for not training them to ask for things that are within our ability to provide. The same thing applies to God and His ability to give us what we ask for. Rather than His ability, as in our case, it is asking what is in His will. Gods children must also ask for things that will be helpful to us and not harmful. We as fathers are not magic genies and neither is God.
We must see the plan of God and act accordingly. It is in His word and we must read it daily to renew our minds to think like He does. If we do not know what is in the Bible we will live under the worlds system, far below our rights and privileges as a child of God. Just believe what you read and begin to apply it to your life daily. Acting on the word you read will increase your faith, because faith without works is dead. If you fail to act on what you read, then you really do not believe it to be true.
You don’t need someone to tell you how to live, as your Father has already put it in a book called the New Testament. Stay in it and begin to read it daily. Not just reading, but doing the word studies and finding out what the writer was trying to tell you so many thousands of years ago. By studying and writing down your studies you will find out what you really do know, and this knowledge will be owned by you and not some talking head who tells you what it says. I am not against preachers or teachers, but as Gods children we need to learn to feed ourselves.
The Old Testament was about judgement and the New Testament is all about grace and God being your Father and you being his child by believing in Jesus. As a believer you are much different then the Jews of old. Your born again spirit is a new creation which has never existed before Jesus rose from the dead. He was the firstborn of many to come after Him. Holy Spirit put everything we needed to know in this New Testament as He explained the message of Grace, into this book of instruction for us to read and apply. Please do your very best to study this instruction book of life and allow Him to mold and make you into the image He wants. God will never fail, all we need is trust and faith in His ability to do what He said He would do.
Grow up and become adults and put away all our childish toys and ideas. It is not going to be any overnight thing that we can accomplish, it will take us the rest of our natural lives to become and act like a Kings Kid’s. I have expressed this before in previous letters but it is always helpful to renew your memory. Holy Spirit used the writers of the New Testament to use the Old Testament and take out of it all we need to know as Christians. The Old Testament was written to the Jews and if you try to combine the Old with the New you will only confuse the message of Grace. I know this is what the Jews did, but you must remember there was no New Testament while they studied the scriptures as the Holy Spirit explained the message of Grace to us through them.
I hope once again that I have written clearly enough in this letter to explain not only faith but worship also. They are both to be combined as one as we enter His presence and fellowship with our daddy God. Remember you will make it just don’t give up. See you soon.
