A Look At Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the assurance, the confirmation, the title deed, of things we hope for, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality, faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses.” Amplified Bible.

Is it our lack of faith or is it the unbelief we have as humans? I just saw this on YouTube the other night and it was made by Andrew Womack. Is he correct? Or is there more to it then what we are taught by some talking head on television or audio?

Is it our faith that is the problem? I did not listen to his message so I will not critique it as I only am using it as my subject of this letter. He supplied the spark for my study on this subject. I am very selective as to whom I will listen to and you should be too. I always prefer to get it straight from the source as I read and study the Bible. Maybe I am reinventing the wheel but I have come to distrust some of the leading televangelist as of late.

The Word of God informs us that we are to ask in faith without doubting. Is this even possible? Where does the blame lie? Not on God for sure, it is always our lack of believing that is the problem. Our lack of understanding in other words.

Look at the new convert when they first believe on Jesus. They are excited and ready to believe what ever they are told by those in leadership. If they are taught correctly and informed that what they read in the New Testament is for them today then they will be on a very firm foundation to believe God.

But sadly most converts are not taught the Word of God correctly and no one is around to mentor them most of the time. Our main problem in Christiandom is too many Christians and not enough Disciples. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:2 that he could not teach them with meat but only with milk. He meant they were babies in the Lord, as are most of us no matter how old we are. Age does not make us mature Christians even in leadership.

What is faith according to Mr. Webster? “Allegiance to duty or a person or loyalty. A firm belief in something for which there is no proof. Complete confidence.” So we have 3 items that define faith as being something that we can not see but we are completely confident it is true and we remain loyal in our allegiance to it by our faith it is true.

This all sounds good on paper but when we need to put it into practice this is where the resistance comes through. After all we are human and we live in a fallen world. Right? No excuse if you are a believer purchased by Jesus with His blood. We go about every day crossing steel and concrete bridges built by mankind, drive 50 plus mph in a car that is controlled by computer’s passing cars that are within inches of us, fly here and there in airplanes that are also controlled by the same computers, and we balk at simply believing the Bible as true.

What is the switch that turns on the power of God? My wife is laying in a rest home and she is a physical wreck and yet the Bible declares she is healed by Jesus stripes (2 Peter 2:24). The same Bible also says she is redeemed from the curse of the law and sickness is part of that curse (Galatians #:13,14). The Word of God also declares that Jesus went about doing good and healing all those who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). The facts are real but the evidence we find in the Bible will always prove which facts are true to the case and which ones are false.

The result of the new birth is that we get to be under the blessings of Abraham. We have been lied to for thousands of years and it is time these talking heads (Preachers) get in line with what God says and start teaching and believing we are more than capable of doing these things ourselves. We don’t need any more authority or leadership other than the Word of God and the Holy Spirit working with and in us as children of God now on this earth and not some pie in the sky future time!

I am guilty of this also but we need to follow the example Jesus left us and dare to believe His words are true. We are redeemed, but we are not taught it by our churches. Education is our problem not lack of faith. I know what I have just written is true but how do we flip the switch? It has to be an act of the Holy Spirit and we have to be filled with Him just as Jesus was (Ephesians 5:18). He is the healer and faith is the creative source of believing we can do it.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. In other words faith is the substance of whatever we are asking for as long as it lines up with the Word of God we can then put it in the bank. Nothing can stop it as long as it is Gods will and we should never ask for something without checking it out with the Bible first. This is the only way you can ever ask in faith if you know what God said first and then you have firm ground to stand on.

I know I am empty in my spiritual life and part of my problem is my emotional state of concern with her being struck down by Gods enemy and I need help from Holy Spirit to come along side of me and hold me up. I am pooped! These little studies I do really help but I also need to double up on reading Gods word and let it fill my tank, but finding the will to is hard.

The “Church” really needs to step back and look at itself as it is also a wreck, it’s poor, it’s helpless, it’s powerless and it fit’s really well into Revelation 3. We were never to be an organization but a real live movement that changes everyone that comes into contact with it.

I’m not going to continue beating on the Organized Church but I guess you get my drift if you have been following along on this blogging journey of mine. If there is a positive side to this organization it should be the ability to teach the children of God who gather inside its walls every week. Not just 2 hours or so every week but to teach daily how to become the overcomes they are born to be. Earn those salaries that you pay them for.

I hope this letter fans the flame of hope in you and it becomes a fire to burn so al can see it. Remember you will make it, just don’t give up. See you next time and please help us in praying for my sweetheart’s total recovery. We know God’s will as it is in His word.
