Now faith is the assurance, the title deed, being the proof of things we do not see and the conviction of their reality, faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses- Hebrews 11:1; Amplified Bible.
According to Strongs Concordance, faith is mental acceptance and trust. It is also the moral conviction of religious truth or the truthfulness of God, especially the reliance upon Christ for salvation.
What a concept! Imagine trusting only upon Jesus to get you to heaven. Believing something you can not see with you physical eyes. This is contrary to the teachings of the main stream Churches of history and even today in some of them. In Romans 10:9 it says- “ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved, KJV.
Why do men try and make it so difficult? The only reason I can come up with is control. Humans always want to be in control of something. To be important in our own eyes. Poppycock! The only one who needs to be in control is the Holy Spirit. Not our do’s and don’t system of man made rules. Always looking down our noses at those we see as inferior to our own self righteousness and condemning attitudes. The Church has aborted more babies than the world ever has. Even if the Church has aborted you, God, who is the creator of all life, is able to put life back into you and finish that which He has started.
Faith is also believing in something for which there is no proof or seen with our eyes. Faith is complete confidence with total trust and allegiance to someone. This someone is Jesus Christ, who is the guarantee that the Bible is true and He watches over His word to preform it- Jeremiah 1:12. When Jesus used the seed of a mustard tree to illustrate faith, He was trying to show the people that the seed just did what it was designed to do.
The seed did not have to work something up, it was ready to go and do what it was designed to do. It just did it. If we believe Jesus is the son of God, and the Bible is true, then this is all the proof we need to become what God has already placed in our hearts. When we waver and doubt, we are messing up. Our minds want to see it first to believe. The Bible is our handbook to life here on this earth and if God wrote it then all we need is to believe what we read and put it into action. This is simple faith, if God said it, I believe it. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever- Hebrews 13:8.
In the American pledge of allegiance, we find this word “allegiance.” Most people do not understand it or they would not be saying it. It means that fidelity is owed by a subject or citizen to the government under which he resides. It also means devotion or loyalty to a person, group or cause. The word fidelity is the quality or state of being faithful. As Christians we should only have allegiance to God and no one else. We can not have allegiance to both our God and our place of domicile.
If we really are citizens of Heaven then we need to become what we believe. Our actions should be such that anyone will recognize us as being different. A difference that attracts but does not repel. In our New Testament Jesus tells us how to act and what to say. This is the seed of the mustard tree. We are already programmed by God to produce life. This life is in the seed by design- Genesis 1:11. Our words have the power of life or death in them- Proverbs 18:21. Use them wisely.
Jesus was always using the “kiss” system (keep it simple saint). The gospel is so simple, and because of it being so simple we have a tough time believing it. All is forgiven, just come to me is Gods simple plan of salvation. Jesus has already made the way and we just need to believe it. Just as the mustard tree just became, we also need to just become what we are supposed to be. Children of the King of Kings. God is our father and He will care for us every day. Just read His word every day and allow it to wash your minds and make you into His image so you can grow just as the mustard tree did.
Faith is simply believing what God has said is true. Remember facts do not change the truth, but truth will always change the facts.
