Why Does The Church Blame Eve?

Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth….And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness, and let them have dominion over all the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth (verse 26)….and God said unto them (Adam and Eve) be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth (verse28). Genesis 2:8, And the Lord took man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and keep it.

Adam was created fully intelligent, so much so that God brought all the animals and birds of the air to Adam to see what he would call them (Genesis 2:19-20). No cave man or monkey man wondering who or what it was! Adam was created a full grown adult just as Eve was. Complete in every way. In verse 31 of chapter 1 we see that every thing that God had made including man was good or perfect. No mistakes, just perfection.

Adam is the one to whom God gave the command to protect or guard the garden (Genesis 2:15). Did Adam do a good job? No, he failed miserably. He did not teach Eve the correct words that God taught him. He did not keep-protect the garden from intruders. He did not protect his wife-mate from making a very bad decision. He did not recognize the enemy of God and command him to leave.

Remember what God said in Genesis 1:26, when He said that all the earth was under mans dominion. The devil did not have it, and he would have to leave at Adams command! What does the word dominion mean? Mr. Webster says it is the supreme or sovereign authority, the power of governing and controlling, independent right of possession, use and control. Sounds to me that Adam was the man in charge.

Adam and Eve were the ones to whom God gave this command to in Genesis 1:28. So why does the Organized Church blame Eve for mankinds fall? She and Adam had authority over the earth based on Gods word, because the earth was Gods creation and He could do whatever He wanted with it.

According to 1 Timothy 2:14, Adam was not deceived, but Eve was. Adam made a free will choice, a very bad decision that cost him and his children dearly. I have not heard, or even read of anyone saying that if he would of only taken the fruit out of her hand and thrown it away, nothing would of happened to them. He was in charge! Don’t believe me? Then consider this, Eve ate the fruit first and nothing happened to them, but, when Adam also ate of it, the eyes of both of them were opened.

Adam was the one who disobeyed God, Eve disobeyed her husband. Eve misquoted or added to what God had said. Either she added the words do not touch it or else Adam did when he told her. The fruit does not matter, it is the violation of Gods word or command. The tree was planted there to see if man would believe what God said and leave the tree alone. We have the same options today, it is all about trusting God to know more than we do.

Over in Matthew and Mark, chapter 4, we see Jesus being tempted by His enemy just as they were. Jesus overcomes the devil each time with the word of God. They could of done the same. The devil had the authority to do as he told Jesus or else it was not much of an temptation. Adam gave it to him by consent and not by deception of the enemy. The devil had it legally and Jesus knew it, but this time the second Adam is prepared, and uses the word of God as His sword, to defend and send the enemy away.

I want to end this blog with a thought for you all to consider. The sin dna, aka the seed of disobedience is transferred from the man to the child, to whom only the woman can carry. This is why Eve did not fall or die spiritually when she ate of the fruit of disobedience. But, she did die spiritually when Adam also ate of the fruit, knowing full well what God had told him. Both of them were then affected by his decision alone.

This is why God could use a woman to bear His child, Jesus. The seed of disobedience or dna is not within her to pass along to her child. In Genesis 3:15 we read that her seed would bruise the serpents head. Not mans seed but hers. This is a prophetic word foretelling of the birth of Messiah Jesus, through Mary, so many thousands of years into the future. Only the man can pass this seed of disobedience or fallen nature as we call it to the child. Otherwise Jesus would of been born just like us, able to fail because of this dna of disobedience.

But, He was born of God and had Gods dna, just like Adam. God was the father, and Mary was the one to carry Him, as His mother. Had Jesus succumbed to the devils temptatation like Adam did, all would have been lost. Thank God Jesus did not fail as the second Adam. Dominion was regained by His death, burial, and resurrection. In Revelations 1:18, we read that Jesus now holds the keys to death, and hell. He has restored mans dominion over all the earth once again. Not every man, but only the ones who are the children of God, born of His Spirit, by the new birth. People who believe that Jesus is the Christ and trust Him with their eternal future. Praise God, I am one of them, and you are too, if you have confessed Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Just believe it and get back in the race of life.

I hope you see the answer to my question in this letter I have written to you. Adam was the one who gave it all away. Jesus is the one who regained it for us all. Remember that you will make it, just don’t give up. See you soon.
