Once Saved?

This is a question most believers have had at least once in their Christian walk. Most of the Organized Church can not or will not answer it! This morning I will endeavor to answer it as I get so tired of Yo-Yo Christianity being preached from their pulpits. One day you feel saved then the next day you are not so sure. This is what I mean by Yo-Yo Christianity. Even Paul went through this (Romans 7:19-20) in his battle with the flesh and his old nature always trying to regain its control.

According to what I know about Denominational Church teachings, is the Baptist Church has it most correct. Once you commit your future to Jesus and believe on Him as the Christ, then you become a Child of God. Your spirit is reborn and you are forgiven. You are saved, and you can not get any more saved then saved. It is a one time thing and it will last forever. Secure in Gods hands for all eternity.

The New Testament gives us the assurance that once we believe (Acts 16:31) we are then sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise (Ephesians 1:13-14) we are saved. I know this is contrary to most Organized Churches doctrine of saved-lost routine, but the word of God does not support it. Once God does something it is forever. We have nothing to do with our salvation, other than to believe.

He made the way (John 3:16). He gives us the gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8). He does the work within us at His good pleasure and timing. When He looks at us, He sees His Sons reflection in us (Colossians 3:10). We really are saved by grace alone (Ephesians 2:8). Once we are saved, we are saved. We become Gods child by faith in Jesus, and in Him alone. Once you are a child can you stop being a child? Are your children always your children? Of course they are. Just apply some logic here and stop being scared by some well meaning preacher who does not understand the Bible, or has been brain washed by some Cementary School, I mean Seminary.

Each person is an individual, an as such His plan for each of us is unique to us. We are the only ones who can fulfill it. “Be yourself, because everyone else is taken”, is a quote I read the other day when I was out shopping, and I believe it fits very well as to what I have just said. Each of us has a gift that God placed in us when we were conceived. Most of the time it just lies there dormant, waiting for us to just pick it up and unwrap it, and use it to accomplish Gods plan for us on this earth.

Our purpose in life is to touch someones life and help awaken this beautiful dormant gift placed there by God for His purpose, to do something, even if it is small in our eyes. You never know when you will awaken the next Billy Graham, or the next John Lake. We need to realize that every action we take has eternal rewards. We all carry the gift of salvation so our faces should show it. Most of the time we look like the rest of the world around us,sad, angry, hopeless.

So to remedy this we need to remember who we are, Gods Child! Put a smile on your face , and walk a lively step as we go about our public lives, be the Minister of reconciliation (2Corinthians 5:18) you are born to be. Remember smiles are contagious too. How can your smile be seen while we wear these mask? Your eyes will light up as you smile, just try it in the mirror. People are looking for some good news every day, be the one who brings it too them and you will see them smile even if your smile is hidden.

This plague will soon pass, and we need to stay focused on Jesus and what He is doing in us. Give it away to everyone you meet. Be happy, be filled with joy, for your name is written in the Lambs Book of Life (Philippians 4:3). Lets make this year a year filled with hope, joy, and peace, as we allow God to awaken our own special gift within us. To keep something in Gods realm, we need to give it away (John 14:27) as Jesus did while He walked the earth as a human.

Get back in the race of life and remember, you will make it, just don’t give up. See you soon.

In His Service as Kilted Priest.
