Does The Church Need To Change?

The “Church” has been lacking for so long preachers who will teach and preach the actual word of God and not mans traditions. Powerless dogma and not enough of the word of God (Mark 16:20, Acts 14:3).

Today I want to share with you five things that are in need of change in our Church system. Some of them I have touched on before in previous blogs. Sometimes I feel like a modern day Martin Luther as I try to explain what I see wrong or lacking in the Church of today. Our time on earth is so short as human beings, but if we do what the Bible tells us to do, then we will accomplish all we need to in our lifetime.

The five things that need correction in the “Church” are, Authority, Conduct or Character, Healing, Integrity, and Giving verses Tithing. We as the “Church” have lost our status in America and even the World. We are just another Religion in the eyes of the world, good words on how to live, but no real power to change. If we do not correct ourselves quickly, we will become an outcast, and will see Christian persecution like never before or at least since the time of Nero.

We are not politically correct, and we can not back up our words with power. God is only a “Yesterday” figure in the Church as a whole. He has no power in Todays Church. This is bogus and wrong. Read the book of Acts and you will see the God of the Bible, Yesterday, Today and Forever. Not a religion but a God of Power, that will confirm His word (Mark 16:20). We must change quickly and take up our position as Children of God as recorded in the Book of Acts before it is too late.

I have written on several of them and will not rehash them as you can go back and read my previous comments. Without real change in the Church, we will continue to decline in our status not only here, but in all the world.

1. Authority: What does it mean to have authority? Mr. Webster explains it as “the power to influence or command thoughts, opinions, and behavior. Mr. Strong gives three Greek words as used in the New Testament for his explanation and together they mean to dominate, usurp authority over, control, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right or strength, injunction or decree.

The Church has turned the work of God into a business, and a private club, complete with its own rules and dress codes. Religion was not tolerated by Jesus and we should also not allow ourselves to be associated with it. Paul gives us the correct definition of how God sees it (James 1:27). Do you see any authority in your local Church? Most of the time the doors are closed and locked. Open only when it is time to have another “Club” meeting and collect the dues from its members. Shame on us. Wake up!

2.What is the conduct the Church should portray to the World? Not just the world but also in our private lives. How are we viewed? How do we dress, and how does the world see the Jesus we portray? I know our American culture has changed since I was a young man. Scripture reminds us that we are the salt (Matthew 5:13-16), and we are the ones who preserve and keep something clean. We are needed in our modern “devil driven” culture to bring about change and not become just like the world. Not with rules and dress codes, but by being different from the world (James 1:27) and allowing Holy Spirit to change us as He sees fit. All we need to do is share the gospel of Jesus with those whom we come into contact with as the Lord opens the doors.

3.What is the Biblical stance on healing? Not what man says, but what God says in His Book! I will list a few scriptures, Acts 10:38, 1 Peter 2:24, James 5:14-15, 1 Corinthians 11: 28-31. Everyone that needed healing in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John just asked Jesus to heal them and He did. No qualifying, no conditions, just healing. It is not right that children of God should suffer the same sicknesses as the world. I know it is hard for us to understand, but it is what Jesus did according to the Bible (Acts 10:38). Sickness is just an attack from the enemy upon the Temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Wake up!

4. Last week I covered the word integrity, so I will not rehash my words to you again, but I see very little integrity in our Church world today.

5. I have also covered the tithe as it was never meant for the Church, but I will make a few comments. We are all Priest unto God now through Jesus Christ. The modern tithe is all about money and its man made system of bondage, that the Church says is Biblical but has no scripture to back it up.

I know this blog is hard for us to read, let alone do, but if I am right as I have posted before (Matthew 24:32-34). Our time is short, shorter than we can even imagine. The Church has to become the dominate force in our society before the anti-christ shows up, if we are to get the message of the Gospel to a lost and dying world before the persecution starts making us do it (Acts 17:6).

It is not hard to share Jesus with someone if we have daily contact with Him in our private lives. It will spill out if we are full (John7:38). Just do not allow yourself to be condemned, just be real with others and do not put on a religious charade. People want something that is real, even the Millennials. Remember you will make it, just don’t give up. See you soon.
