I have been thinking about our words and what better time to discuss them. It is the 13th day of 2021, and we need a positive confession instead of all the negative ones we hear that bombard us every day from the world around us.
Most days I have a very good confession and outlook on life, and I try to choose my words carefully. But little by little, life is able to change us without our knowing it. But since the present is just a connecting point of the past and future, I believe it is a good time to start and become more like God, our Father.
Our daily routine should consist of our words being spoken first about who we are, and what we are. That we have Gods protection and favor, and that we have a purpose in life. These are words of faith and not what we see with our physical eyes.
The Word of God is very clear about our tongues and what trouble it can cause. But, it also declares that this same member can create life. If you want your words to do this then you must do as God did. He spoke and it became. We are to speak His Words, or what is recorded in the Bible, and it will produce life in us. Faith in God is all that is required.
We need to understand that we belong to God and we need to be imitator’s of Him (Ephesians 5:1-2). We are created in Gods image and we are His children. Children always imitate what they see their parents doing. When we speak and agree with Gods word, we will find it will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), but it will accomplish that which it is sent for.
In the book of Isaiah (57:19), it says that God creates the things we say. God is always watching and listening to our words of faith as we offer up our sacrifices of praise (Hebrews 13:15) to God continually, that is the fruit of our lips.
King David knew about praise, as we find recorded in the Bible and in Psalms 22:3 specifically. In this scripture we find out that God inhabits the praise of His people, or in other words when we talk like Him and put His word first place in our life, then we release the power of His word to enrich our lives.
King Solomon also knew about the power of his tongue, as he states in Proverbs 13:3. (He who keeps his mouth, keeps his life). In plain American language it means to put your brain into gear before your mouth causes you a problem you do not need. Also in Proverbs 15:4, that a wholesome tongue is a tree of life, and again in Proverbs 18:21, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. You choose which one you want released in your life.
Our Lord Jesus also spoke these words in Matthew 12:37, (for by your words you shall be justified and by your words shall you be condemned). We are responsible for our words, and we choose daily what our future contains. We either choose to be a creator of death, or a creator of life. It really is our choice. Our words or confession is to provide us with protection, health, salvation, purpose, and favor with God and mankind
This morning I will write down my confession I try to say everyday. Sometimes I say it in an abbreviated fashion, but I always remember to never say anything negative about my future. The Bible tells us to write down and post them everywhere. so your eyes will see them and your brain will remember to speak Gods word (Deuteronomy 6:9).
I am a child of God (Romans 8:16). My name is written in the Lambs book of life (Revelation 21:27). I am a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17). My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and Gods Spirit dwells in me (2Corinthians 6:16). I have the mind of Christ (1Corinthians 1:9). I have the wisdom of God and His thoughts are my thoughts, and His ways are my ways (Isaiah 55:8-9, Colossians 1:9). The eyes of my understanding are being enlightened that I may know the hope of my calling in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:18). I have hearing ears to hear the voice of God, and the voice of another I will not hear (John 4:5). I have the tongue of the learned, that I may speak a word to those who are weary and in need of help (Isaiah 50:4). Everything I put my hands to will prosper (Psalm 1:1-3). I lay hands on the sick and they will recover (Mark 16:18). My feet are blessed, because I carry the gospel of peace and reconciliation, as an ambassador to the world (Isaiah 52:7, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21).
These words are my morning wakeup confession as I bless my day and give thanks for our safety through the night. I could say more but what is written should be easy to remember as it is your body parts, starting with your head and ending with your feet. Easy-Peasy.
I hope this message makes sense to you and that you will begin to change the way you think, speak, and act as a Child of God. You are all very special to me and I want you to remember, you will make it, just don’t give up.
See you next week.
