Who Is This Kilted Priest?

I really do not want my readers to know who I am, but I am not trying to keep them from finding out. It is no secret, I just want the focus to be on what I am blogging about. I am a square peg in a round hole. I just don’t fit into organized religion or “church” as we like to call it.

Church = ekklesia = a popular meeting, a religious congregation, community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both, an assembly. A church is always a group of people who gather together in worship, study the word of God, or listen to a preacher who teaches them how to be good Christians. It is never a building.

I have had many ups and downs in this thing we call life. Have I blown it? Yes, very many times, too numerous to count. Am I still saved? Yes, in spite of me, Jesus still loves me and calls me his own. God’s child is who I am. I strive to live up to my birthright, but sometimes I forget who I am. Yikes! The old man is alive and walking again. How dare I call myself a Priest? But it is not a title that I gave to myself. It is what God calls me, and you also, if you name the name of Jesus as your own. Read 1 Peter 2:5 and Revelation 1:6.

I am presenting this blog of mine to allow you, my brethren, to see how to keep going in time of despair and defeat. Paul says in his letter to the Roman Christians to not allow condemnation to affect them. He also says in Chapter 8, verse 1, “There is now therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”. This is where most preachers stop and beat up on their congregation. But if you keep reading, you will find out what Paul was saying was to get his readers away from condemnation. Read in verse nine where he says, “But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his:. Everybody who is under condemnation for his goof-ups or sins can be instantly free when they see, this is not of God.

A Christian author back in 1970’s – 1980’s wrote a book called The Battle is in the Mind. We are constantly at war with our thoughts. If the enemy can get us over in the five senses realm, we are on weak soil. We have to put the word of God over any thing that is contrary to it, especially over senses. We battle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, powers, and the ruler of darkness. But, take heart, the war is over and it is just these skirmishes that are included in the mopping up and taking control of your area as an occupying force that has been successful as the winning army. We are just looking for the occasional sniper that is hiding and refuses to give up or concede that they have lost.

So, take heart, and keep looking towards home. Our goal is to get there as soon as we finish our race. Do not let condemnation ruin your life. Admit it. Quit it. And, forget it. You are God’s child and you are never out of His sight or care. You will make it. Just don’t give up.
